Traditional manual meter reading, which involves meter readers checking the electricity meters household by household every month, consumes a lot of manpower and material resources. Moreover, the time span for data collection is long and the accuracy of data collection is low, which cannot meet the requirements of "periodicity, real-time, and accuracy".

The wireless intelligent electricity data collection solution uses smart meters to collect user electricity data, which is then aggregated at the concentrator. The data is transmitted to WiMAXCPE through WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) connected to the concentrator, and then periodically and automatically transmitted back to the control center through the WiMAX base station. The control center records and analyzes the data to complete subsequent optimization scheduling, control, billing and other functions.
